LOCATED IN RACINE, WISCONSIN: Hello! My name is Rosie and I am a 7 year old Shih-Malt. I am an adult-only type of dog, so let me be up front right away: I would prefer a home of adults only. I LOVE to snuggle and sit next to you, but I get overwhelmed easily if you try to snuggle me when I am on my own. Sometimes, I just want my own alone time is all.
I am Spayed and current on all my shots. And weigh in at a whopping 11 pounds.
Julie is teaching me how to come when called, sit, down, go to bed, kennel up, and even some tricks She says I am a SMART girl and I am very food motivated. I love to chew on the Himalayan Yak chews she gives me and I ADORE playing with squeak toys. I like to bark and keep away weirdo strangers, but I am learning how to be Quiet. Julie says I am a work in progress, but, hey! Who isn't, am I right?!?
I am COMPLETELY potty trained - to the point where I WILL bark at you when I have to go accidents! Oh, yeah, and I grumble-talk when I want snuggle time...or a treat.
I would rather spend a quiet evening at home than going all sorts of places, but I do LOVE my yard time, SNIFF-aris (treats scattered on a Snuffle Mat or in the backyard for me to find on an adventure hunt and soaking up the sun. I will need a fenced in yard. I am working on leash skills.
I HAVE been daycare approved, have tolerated other dogs that have come and gone the last couple of weeks since I have been here, but I do not really play with them - I would rather spend time supervising and snuggling with humans. I do visit with both humans and dogs once a week at The Woof and Julie also says if I get adopted locally, she will include a private lesson and some phone consultations to make sure we all can stay in touch and it is an easier transition for me.
Anyway, I am looking for my FOREVER home and if you think that may be with you, fill out an application and get approved! Please call Julie at 262-308-2523.
