Grace was found on the street alone in a small town in Kentucky on July 21, 2007.  She was taken to a local shelter where she was kept for weeks with no veterinary care.  Her left hind leg was broken in several places and she suffered with a condition called Dry Eye. Without medication the dry eye can become very uncomfortable and infection sets in. Northcentral Maltese was notified by a caring person who arranged to get this sweet little girl to us so we could provide the necessary vet attention she needed. She has undergone a dental where she lost 7 teeth because of periodontal disease. She is scheduled for surgery to remove her leg from the hip down.

Update: Grace had her leg removed and now she is running like the wind in her foster home.  The pain is gone and she is the happy little love she was meant to be.  Her eyes are clear, and the painful infection gone.  Yes, she will require continued use of eye medication daily for the rest of her life, but she will keep her vision.  Grace gives you all many doggie kisses.  Her foster mom says she is a real love puppy. Thank you all again for making this incredible recovery possible.
