My name is Juliet Reed. In February, 2004, I was adopted into a loving family home. For two weeks, I had laid in a shelter with a badly broken leg waiting for my old family to find me. I had been hit by a car. During those two weeks my leg hurt, but I remained a sweet loving girl. I was in pain, but I still remained a good girl. At the end of those weeks, when no one claimed me, I was to be put to sleep. A kind volunteer called Northcentral Maltese Rescue to have me picked up; she could see my gentle loving spirit. Thanks to George Bailey, working very hard making arrangements, my Mama was on her way to drive 6 hours one way to take me to North Carolina to foster me. Mama knew before she picked me up she would ADOPT me instead. It did not matter if I only ended up with 3 legs, she would love me forever. Mama drove back to NC that night so that Dr. Gilyard could see my leg problem. My leg was saved. Mama shed many tears. I got a horrid staphylococcus infection and the bone would not heal. The Vet still was not sure if I could keep my leg or not. Mama thought I was still in pain and was worried. Mama asked the rescue group to help with some BIG PRAYERS to heal me. Today I have four legs and the infection did go away. It took almost five months for me to heal and get spayed. I am the love of my family’s life. They treasure me!!! I have five furball sisters. They are Sweet E Pie, Morgan, Meg, Jill and Truffles. Not a day goes by that my family does not feel blessed that I have joined the group. Mama says my birthday is 14 FEB; I was three years old on that day, as close as we can guess. I thank Northcentral Maltese Rescue, Inc. for paying my medical bills (they were big) and for helping me find my forever home.
