Ike & Tessie

Hi to all:

We adopted 2 Maltese from Northcentral Maltese Rescue, Inc. in 2002 on Memorial Day. Ike is now 11 years old and Tess is 10 years old. I was so very fortunate to be gifted with my two babies. They are the joy of our life. They were rescued from a puppy mill. They lived together in a cage for almost 8 years together. They were only used to producing babies for profit. When Tess could have no more babies, they were lucky (if mill dogs can be lucky) to be turned over to the Northcentral Maltese Rescue instead of being put to death.

Through all this they are very healthy. They now have lost all their teeth, in fact Tess just had her last surgery last week [in Nov., 2004]. She had a rough time recuperating, but I am glad to report she is back to her old self. They seem a lot healthier since their teeth have been removed.

Ike is very laid back and just happy to be a snuggly bunny and be in your lap. He has his own very special bed by my chair in the den and a blanket I made for him which he puts in his mouth to carry to bed at night. Too Cute. Tess, although 10 years old, is like a puppy. She loves to run in the yard and chase chipmunks at our place up North. She loves to dance on her back legs for treats. They are so loving and caring - how lucky we are and blessed.

I want to thank Northcentral Maltese Rescue, Inc. for all the wonderful work they do, and the joy they bring into all of our lives in letting us have these gifts of fur.
