December, 2004
We lost our beloved Miko (our first Maltese) in September of 2001. Our first feelings after our loss were that we could never have another dog. WELL, a lot has changed since then as you can see by our picture. Now we are owned by our 3 precious Maltese. Chloe (In the middle) we got in November of 2001 at 12 weeks of age. Then 6 months went by and we received a call that a rescue was available for us to adopt. So we drove 12 hours round trip and picked up Caesar (top of picture). His owner had just passed away and his grown children were going to put him down, he was only 2. He was dirty and shaking like a leaf, but despite this he came with us. He has truly become my soul mate whom I adore.
Next was our precious little senior “Buddy” (bottom). We were SUPPOSED to foster him, he came from a home where the youngest child was mistreating him. When we first picked him up his mouth was just healing up from being hit in the mouth by a bat and losing most of his teeth. Being an only dog all of his life he proceeded to growl & snap at Chloe & Caesar when he first met them. For some reason I’ll call it fate we just knew this little guy needed us and we needed him! Never did we think a year and a half later this little 5Lb senior dog would be running and playing with Chloe & Caesar. We never thought he would totally steal our hearts away either! Our house would not be complete today with our little Buddy!
So as you can see we have come full circle and we are surrounded with little four legged white angels. Everyday we cherish all 3 of our furbabies and thank God we were introduced to “Northcentral Maltese Rescue”. There is no better companion in the world than a rescue dog. Their loyalty and devotion will leave permanent paw prints in your heart forever.
