Kathy and I had to say goodbye to our dearest little Lady dog last Monday. She had lost so much weight due to the kidney disease. Lady was such a special dog and we were so fortunate to have had her. I don't recall the exact date we adopted her but it was in October 2001 so we had her eight years, possibly to the day. We love all of our dogs but Lady was the best dog we have ever had. She never once growled or nipped. Never even hinted at it. She was just a fun little dog. She never got over all of her puppymill shyness but she got over most of it and had a lot of fun. She played with toys and fetched up until the last couple months. We never did get our faces kissed though. That's OK, because she was the first to greet strangers who came in the door, which was a big deal for the dog who used to hide from everyone.
Please post her picture on the website so others can see her. This picture was taken about a year after we adopted her.
We are very sad to have lost her, but how sad should we really be? Despite living the first seven years in horrible conditions, Lady lived to be 15-1/2 and was very healthy until the last few months. She got to live better than half of her life in a happy home. So we are trying to keep that in mind.
Thanks for approving us to adopt her way back in 2001. It was one of the best things we have done.
