Our quiet, sweet Oliver passed away Thursday afternoon. He came to us as a foster, with kidney issues and was only expected to live for a short time, but luckily thrived and was with us for almost 3 years. His vision and hearing were almost totally gone these past few months, but he got around surprisingly well. Even though he slept most of the time, the house feels empty without him. I think he was getting more and more confused and when he was up and around, he stayed close to me. I will miss nights like this past Wednesday when he was all snuggled in a blanket on my lap and him letting me carry him around cradled like a baby. He was very loved and cherished, and will be missed so much.
I feel so blessed that he came to us. He was so handsome and serious. I hope he knew how loved he was even though he couldn't see or hear us towards the end.
